Hope Shines is forever indebted to our inspiring partners who help us every day, and with whose help we hit the ground running. To learn more about these organizations, please click on their names.

In particular, we must acknowledge:

Big Brothers Big Sisters has supported the youth of New York City for 100 years by offering caring role models for needy children. The organization also runs a mentoring supervisor training program and has offered much support, advice, and guidance.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP is graciously handling Hope Shines’ legal affairs on a pro bono basis.

Coney Island Beach Shop donated tee shirts for every child and volunteer, as well as the amazing Hope Shines tote bags that became the kids’ hygiene kits. We must also thank Steve Miller of the New York Metro Sysco Corporation, for donating the food for our Summer Soiree!

EFA International, (Education Fights AIDS), works to support Africans infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS. Its founders have walked hand-in-hand with us on our amazing journey and could not ask for more generous partners.

Fair Winds Trading, Inc. brought the children of Africa and the world into our hearts and continues to support our work.

Dr. David Janash, a New York-based dentist, donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss for the kids’ hygiene kits. He has believed in us from the beginning and has made selfless contributions ever since!

Opportunitas Aequa, (OA) uses the unifying power of soccer to create stronger and healthier communities in at-risk and war-affected regions of the world. OA joined us in Rwanda for our summer 2008 camp.

The Children’s Support Center in Kigali, Rwanda (formerly known as The Rebero Orphans Centre), works with children in need every day.

Village de la Paix in Kigali, Rwanda, provides immediate aid for orphans.

Shenandoah University offered scholarships for two high-achieving students to join Hope Shines as volunteers in 2009.
