last day celebration

The last day of camp is a big deal! Both the kids and the volunteers feel happy and proud because so much has been accomplished, and we’ve all made so many new friends. The dances that the kids have worked on so hard all week are FINALLY unveiled (to much applause by fellow campers), and we have a special awards ceremony. Each girl and boy is recognized and given a medal with his or her name on it, and another cool (and important) present: a new reusable water bottle. Then, the party really gets started and we break out some rare treats: Fanta and cake! We celebrate our friendships by talking, hugging, and of course taking TONS of photos, and telling the campers that we can’t wait to come back next year!
